If you are noticing that a student's data is not synchronizing from Clarity to Finalsite, or if you suspect a student is missing from the data push, the most common issue is a missing or incorrect Finalsite ID in the Clarity student record.
Why is the Finalsite ID Critical?
Clarity uses the Finalsite ID saved in the student's Clarity profile as the unique identifier to associate the Clarity student record with the corresponding student record in Finalsite.
- Data Push: Clarity will only push student data to Finalsite for records that have an associated Finalsite ID.
- Data Pull (Initial Match): Clarity attempts to automatically match students during the data pull from Finalsite using the Finalsite ID first. If the Finalsite ID is not found, the system will use Name and Date of Birth (DOB) matching to find the correct student. If a match is found, Clarity automatically saves the Finalsite ID (and other Finalsite fields) to the Clarity student profile.
The Problem: When Automatic Matching Fails
If the automatic matching fails (e.g., due to a name mismatch, incorrect DOB, or duplicate records), two things will happen:
- Clarity will not save the Finalsite ID to the student's profile.
- Consequently, Clarity will not push any of that student's data to Finalsite.
Solution: Manually Associating a Student with their Finalsite ID
Schools can manually correct this issue by adding the correct Finalsite ID to the student's record in Clarity. Once the Finalsite ID is manually saved, the next scheduled data sync should correctly associate the records and allow data synchronization to resume.
Please reach out to your Clarity CSM if you need assistance manually adding a student's ID.
