The Public School feature is an internal configuration option that will remove all references to contracts, tuition, and deposits from your site, making it ideal for public schools that do not charge fees or require financial agreements.

What is the Public School Configuration?
When the Public School feature is enabled, it will remove all references to contracts, tuition, and deposits from your site. This is ideal for public schools that do not require financial agreements, giving admins a cleaner dashboard without features that do not pertain to them. This is an internal setting and will not affect the parent experience.
The Public School configuration is designed to support two types of public school workflows:
- Public Schools with open enrollment that utilize the Admissions and Enrollment modules, without Direct Enrollment enabled.
- Public Schools that utilize the Enrollment module only and have Direct Enrollment enabled.
Important Note
The Public School configuration is not available to schools that use the Billing module.
Direct Enrollment & the Public School Configuration: How They Work Together
To make enrollment easier for both school administrators and families, we offer two features that complement each other: Direct Enrollment and Public School Configuration.
- Public School Configuration: This setting updates the admin view only, removing financial aid agreements and contract fees from the system.
- Direct Enrollment: This feature changes the parent experience by allowing families to enroll directly through the Parent Portal, skipping the application phase entirely.
When used together, these features create a smooth, simplified enrollment experience:
- Admins see a cleaner dashboard without unnecessary forms and fees.
- Parents can enroll quickly and easily without going through the application process.
We strongly recommend enabling Public School Configuration if your school is using Direct Enrollment. This ensures consistency across both admin and parent views.

Understanding the Admin Experience
Once the Public School configuration is active, the following elements will automatically be hidden from your site, enhancing clarity and efficiency throughout the enrollment process.
Contract Management:
- For students who are in an enrollment status, the Manage Contract button and all subpages will be removed from the contact record.
- The Net Tuition & Fees report will be hidden from the Enrollment tab.
- The Contract Status column will be removed from the Students in Enrollment page, under Enrollment > Students in Enrollment.
Financial Settings:
- Under Settings > Financial, the following pages will be hidden:
- Deposit
- Contract Fees
- Payment Plans
