Use Custom HTML when you need to drop a tracking pixel or script onto a specific Parent Portal template, like a single thank-you page, rather than across the entire portal. You build the script once on the Custom HTML page, which generates a merge token, then insert that token wherever it should fire. For site-wide GA4, GTM, or Custom Script tracking, use the Parent Portal Content page instead.
💡Quick Answers
- Where do I create a Custom HTML template? Settings > Portal > Custom HTML > Add a new Custom HTML template. Enter a name, a Token Name (letters, numbers, and underscores only), paste your script into the large text field, and click Save.
- How do I drop the script onto a template? Settings > Portal > Parent Portal Content, Edit the template, use the merge token picker (Menu 1: Custom HTML, Menu 2: your token name), Insert, then Save.
- Which templates accept Custom HTML tokens? Application Thank You, Autopay Terms and Conditions, Contact Communication Area, Contact Page Sidebar, Contact Page Sidebar Header, Contract Thank You, Dual Signature, Inquiry Thank You, Login Page Description, and Portal Widget.
- Which templates do NOT support Custom HTML tokens? Application Fee Check/Instructions, Billing Management Widget, Contract Autopay Required Message, Custom Fee Check/Instructions, Custom Payment Instructions, Deposit Check/Instructions, Finalsite Explore Page, Pay Now Instructions, Summary Page Header, and Summary Page Sidebar.
- What's the difference between Custom HTML and the site-wide GA4/GTM fields? Custom HTML fires on the specific pages where you insert the token. The site-wide GA4/GTM/Custom Script fields on Parent Portal Content fire on every Parent Portal page.
- Can I add tracking codes to forms? No, that path is no longer supported. Existing hidden-field scripts on forms still run, but if you need to edit one, remove the hidden field and switch to Custom HTML instead.

⚠️ Important Note On Forms
The system no longer supports adding tracking codes to forms. If you have inserted a custom script manually on your online forms using hidden form fields, the current scripts will continue to work. However, if you need to edit that script, you will need to remove the hidden field from the form and then add the script anew by using Custom HTML.
