Creating Your Search
The first step is to pull a report of your students so you can display their sibling data. For example, you can create a report that pulls all your Applicants and then display their sibling data as columns within that report.
To do this, determine how you would like to build your report. In this example, we will pull students by Admissions status, but you can also pull a report by Enrollment status.
- Navigate to your Search page under the Search & Reports tab at the top of your site.
- Select the term using the term picker at the top of the page.
- Using the Search by drop-down menu, select Admissions Status.
- (Please note that you would select Enrollment Status here if you'd like to build an enrollment report.)
- Select "Is currently" to pull students currently in the statuses you selected.
- Select one or more statuses from the Select Status(us) drop-down menu provided.
- Optional: Continue to add search criteria if you'd like to narrow down your search further.
- Click Search to get your results.

Displaying Sibling Data in Your Search
After you've entered your search criteria and hit Search, you will be able to click the Change Display/Columns button in the upper right of the page. This will open the Results Display window. To learn more about this menu, visit the Search & Reports Results Displays article.
Under the Fields to Display section of the window, you will select Sibling from the Entity drop-down menu. This will show you the list of fields related to siblings.
Next, you can use the Search bar to search for specific fields or browse the field groupings under the Groupings section to locate the fields you want to display manually. Once you find a field you want to display in your search, click the checkbox next to it under the Fields section to add it to your list of Selected Fields. The fields you select will appear under the Sibling entity under the Selected Fields section on the right side.
Pro Tip:
Add the Status field to your search to see if the sibling is in workflow as an Inquiry, Applicant, or Enrolled student. If the sibling is not a current student, their status will be listed as Not In Workflow.
Once all sibling fields have been selected, click Apply to update your search. You will see the fields that are mapped to the Sibling entity are grouped in columns under the Sibling 0-9 headers.
Understanding Sibling Data
Sibling data is typically collected on forms that families complete, such as the Application form. Each field on a form is mapped to a specific entity in the system, such as CHILD, SIBLING 0–9, or PARENT 1–4, which determines where the entered data is stored when the form is submitted.
Finalsite Enrollment supports up to 10 sibling entities, labeled SIBLING 0–9, allowing schools to collect information for up to 10 siblings per student.
Schools can choose how many siblings are collected on their forms. However, by default, the system will always display all 10 sibling entities when retrieving sibling data in searches. For example, if you collect up to four siblings on your Application form, you will see data in the Sibling 0-3 groupings when pulling sibling data in a report, and the remaining Sibling 4-9 groupings will be blank.
Please note: This is a default setting and cannot be customized at this time.
